Work package 1
Dissemination & Exploitation - A learning tool for higher Education, diploma theses, seminars and an international conference on the subject
Starting Month: 1/48
Lead Beneficiary : INFERSENCE
Objectives: The objectives of WP7 are related to Training, Communication, and Dissemination activities. More specifically, in this WPInternational Conferences andSpecializedSeminars/Workshops on topics related to the environmental-based design of the built environment in conjunction with digital tools (AM, blockchain, BIM, AI, big data, IoT technologies) will be organised while students from TC will carry out undergraduate and graduate thesis in MS organisations that will be jointly supervised by two members of the Network. After the successful completion of the project, this conference series is expected to be organised every two years by UOA under the chairmanship of the coordinator of this Network. The first edition of this conference series will be held in the framework of the project in Cairo Egypt during the last year of the project. The purpose of the ADAPT4CE conference will be to bring together the scientific community working in the broader field of Smart Cities, Digital Twins, and Life Cycle Analysis. ADAPT4CE conference will facilitate the exchange of ideas on topics of mutual interest, discuss issues, and promote best practices while building social networks and relationships between research groups with complementary activities. Thus, the communities of Architectural Engineering, Structural Engineering, Computer Science, Computational Mechanics, etc. will become more familiar with important application areas arising from a holistic approach to the environmental design of the built environment. Moreover, the Environmental Design Community will be exposed to advanced numerical methods and software tools which can highly assist in tackling the problem related to the collaboration of environmental-based design of the constructions with digital tools. Also, with city and community members' engagement in sharing information about the provision of services for sustainable constructions and reuse, there will be a push for lasting activation of society.
Description of Work: To reinforce the connection between the members of the Network and disseminate the results of the project, three training actions will be implemented: (1) Organisation of International Conferences, (2) Organisation of Specialised Scientific Seminars/Workshops and (3) Joint supervision of diploma Theses. Training Activities:
Task 7.1. Diploma Theses: In the framework of this Network it is anticipated that each year, several Diploma Theses in areas related to this project carried out by students at the academic host institutions will be jointly supervised by seconded ER from MS and TC participants. These Theses will be supervised by two members of the Network (one originated from the source TC participant and the other from the host MS participant). One to two Diploma Theses are expected to be carried out per year of the project, (Lead by NTUA).
Task 7.2. Specialized Workshops and Seminars: Specialised workshops related to specific topics of the ADAPT4CE project will be organised, together with one seminar where members of the consortium will deliver tutorial courses. One moderator and several chosen speakers bring a variety of perspectives to circular construction activities. In particular, two workshops: (i) 1st International Workshop on "Adaptive Digital Systems for Sustainable Construction and Material Management in the Circular Economy" (ADAPT4CE-i 2026, June 2026, Athens, Greece), (ii) 2nd International Workshop on "Adaptive Digital Systems for Sustainable Construction and Material Management in the Circular Economy" (ADAPT4CE -ii 2027, June 2027, Sofia, Bulgaria) and one specialised seminar during the last year of the project at Stuttgart will take place, (Lead by INFERSENCE). Communication, Dissemination & Exploitation Activities:
Task 7.3. International conference series on digitised environmental design of built environment: Sessions related to specific topics of the Conference are introduced by keynote lectures, with a high international reputation in the field, and complemented by invited Minisymposia, organised by recognized experts in research areas of current interest, as well as by contributed papers submitted directly to the Conference secretariat. The main objective is to develop a platform where: (i) The communities of Environmental Design and Digitalization will become more familiar with important application areas with great social impact. (ii) Furthermore, communities of AECI will benefit from this interaction, since they will be exposed to advanced computational methods and software tools which can highly assist these communities in tackling combinatorial problems. The sub-task of the WP corresponds to the event in 2028: 1st International Conference on "Adaptive Digital Systems for Sustainable Construction and Material Management in the Circular Economy" (ADAPT4CE 2028, June 2028, Cairo, Egypt), (Lead by INS).
Task 7.4. Communication, dissemination and exploitation of the ADAPT4CE project's outcomes: In this Task, dissemination and exploitation activities will be carried based on Global informative/educative connection tables which will host global speakers online, with audience interaction through video conferencing and chat options. Also, online roundtables are essential to our research and the purpose of the conversation will help attendees work toward a common goal. The online roundtables meetings will be organised to discuss topics related to WP and cognitive fields such as: Dissemination of engineering principals for a sustainable architectural process. A framework for evaluation of eco building processes and reuse of its construction materials. Establishment of a digital Construction Waste Consulting Office, (Lead by INFERSENCE). The contribution of beneficiaries and partners: all contributors of WP7 will participate in line with the research work plan, take part in the academic, communication, dissemination and exploitation events where needed.
